Microbioligy, extinct animals, and evolutionary biology
I was hyperfixated on microbiology for a while and my favorite channel for this stuff is Journey to the Microcosmos. I've bought a calender from them for 2024, it's on my wall right now. I'll upload pictures of it soon. Hopefully.
Here is some links to neat creatures :)
- Muriqui Monkeys, aka "Hippie Monkeys."
- video I heard of them from is Do We Still Have Ape Brains? From History of Human Kind. Cool video. Human evolution is very interesting.
- I think they're social behaviour is really interesting. They are so chill and peaceful. I love when the natural world contridicts the expectation of brutality.
- Bonobos. Another interestingly peaceful primate species. You know about bonobos already but you should think about them some more. Pretty cool, right?
- Humpback Whales. We both know WHALES are fucking awesome. We should be thinking about whale vocalizations more. Intelligence in non-human animals is very interesting.
- Daphnia Magna, the microscopic "water flea." Rarely seen from the front, making it the Phineas Flynn of the real life fae world.
- Cool Daphnia photographs and articles, including the cursed front facing by Dr. Robert Berdan for the Canadian Nature Photographer
- Hatzegopteryx! Big ass ancient Pterosaurs big bird lookin thing! Huzzah!
- And the lovely Quetzalcoatlus!
